Alternative Photography: Working with a View Camera

To photograph in film is one old thing, to photograph with a view camera is another level of vintage, and the effort is worth it. If you’re thinking of upgrading your analogue skills to large format photography, start off with the view camera — a camera obscura introduced in the late 19th century.

7th Annual International Juried Plastic Camera Show

It’s that time of year again! RayKo’s plastic camera competition is open to artists working with plastic cameras with plastic lenses. The more obsolete, flawed, and lo-tech, the better. Images should be taken with cameras with limited controls, such as Diana, Holga, Lubitel, Lomo, Banner, and Ansco cameras. Beautiful prints from less-than- gorgeous cameras – that’s what we’re looking for! This is RayKo’s largest exhibition of the year with artists from all over the globe submitting work, and hundreds of attendees at the reception.

PRIZES
Best of Show - $400 cash prize & a deluxe Diana Camera from Lomography!  Plus, 4 Honorable Mention juror awards.

Notification sent:  January 15, 2014
Exhibition Dates:  March 5 - April 29, 2014

Entry Fee (non-refundable):  $30/up to 3 images, $5/additional image
Limit 10 images per person

Entries will be accepted by mail, in-person drop off, and online via the LensCulture Entry System.
