The Terry O'Neill Photography Award 2013 - deadline for entries!

 

The Terry O’Neill Photography Award is in its 8th year and recognised as one of the world’s leading photographic awards attracting thousands of entries each year. This year we are taking the Award to the next level to make it the most innovative, accessible and valuable photography prize, providing the winners and runner-ups with unparalleled levels of publicity that set a new benchmark for other photography awards.  

The Award launches with a fresh website and a mobile device category sponsored by The Royal Photographic Society. A new distinguished panel of judges from the arts and media are backed by an international publicity campaign to attract entries from Berlin to Beijing.

Deadline for entries is 30th November 2013. Due to popular demand we have changed the time period in which submittted images must be shot. The new criteria is that images must have been shot between 30th November 2012 and 30th November 2013.

Niewiele brakowało, a zostałby myśliwym i polował na foki. Reportaż z Grenlandii robił dwa lata. Z rodziną Majów z Gwatemali mieszkał miesiąc. Wtapia się w fotografowaną społeczność. Tym razem miał kilka godzin - i niezwykle intymnie uchwycił w kadr mieszkańców Moskwy, Ułan Bator i Pekinu. - Nigdy nie robię zdjęć ludziom, którzy nie chcą być fotografowani - mówi portalowi Gazeta.pl fotograf agencji Magnum, laureat World Press Photo Jacob Aue Sobol.

Podając dłoń na przywitanie, uśmiecha się nerwowo, ale jego bystre oczy świdrują rozmówcę. W trakcie rozmowy przeprasza, jeśli wygląda na zmęczonego. - Za dużo wódki wczoraj - mówi rozbrajająco. Niewysoki, drobnej budowy, w szaroburozielonej kurtce, mówi cicho, starannie ważąc słowa, nie wyróżnia się z otoczenia.

I właśnie o to mu chodzi. Gdy Jacob Aue Sobol robi zdjęcia, stara się jak najlepiej poznać ludzi, których fotografuje, a potem jak najmniej im przeszkadzać, tak, by poczuli się swobodnie przed jego obiektywem.

Miami Street Photography Festival - Finalists 2013

The 2013 finalists were selected by our panel of judges from among hundreds of submissions.The finalists's images will be displayed at the festival's main gallery during Art Basel, one of the world's premier art scenes, where hundreds of thousands gather each year in Miami to celebrate the visual arts.

​The 2013 MSPF Awards will be selected during festival week from among these images by the featured speakers at the festival, including world-renowned Magnum photographers, Alex Webb, Bruce Gilden, Constantine Manos, and author/photographer Rebecca Norris Webb.

​

A gallery of the images will be posted, once the award winners are determined, on Saturday, December 7th, 2013.
