Romina Ressia

Romina Ressia‘s photography is rooted in fashion, but this selection is not your typical fashion photography. Choosing models with timeless beauty, using Renaissance costuming and painterly lighting, Ressia makes images that originate in classic form… but stop dead in their tracks with anachronistic insertion of contemporary objects. This selection of images pulls from multiple series of Ressia’s though carries a similar approach. Particularly referring to her series ‘How would have been?’, Ressia says she was “inspired by a longing about past times, despite the advances and technology we have today,” adding a layer of nostalgia to the already ironic and humorous photographs.
